******Job Description Summary****** As a Senior Licensing Engineer – I&C
Safety-Related Systems, you will support the licensing and regulatory compliance
of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) safety-related systems for GEH reactors in
Poland. This role involves working with the National Atomic Energy Agency
(Państwowa Agencja Atomistyki, PAA) and other stakeholders to ensure compliance
with Polish Atomic Law, NRC guidance, and international safety standards. You
will be responsible for licensing activities, regulatory engagement, and
technical documentation for digital I&C modernization and safety case
development. ****Job Description**** Key Responsibilities – Support the Polish
Licensing Manager, Regulatory Affairs in interactions with the PAA and
compliance with the Polish Atomic Law Act of November 29, 2000, and other
regulatory frameworks. – Develop and review licensing application submissions
for I&C safety-related systems, including regulatory reports and responses to
customer/regulator inquiries. – Ensure alignment with NUREG-0800, Chapter 7
(Standard Review Plan for I&C Systems), RG 5.71 R1 (Cybersecurity Programs), and
relevant Polish and international regulations. – Provide technical and
regulatory guidance to internal teams and coordinate with GEH/GNF Engineering
and Regulatory Affairs teams in Poland, Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. – Engage
with customers, regulatory bodies, contractors, and industry working groups to
facilitate licensing approvals. – Evaluate the safety classification and
dependability of software-based I&C systems and ensure compliance with IAEA
SSG-39, WENRA, and WNA reports on safety-critical software. – Support nuclear
power plant siting, digital I&C modernization, and safety case defense using a
claims, arguments, and evidence model. **Required Qualifications** – Bachelor’s
degree in engineering or a related science discipline. – Minimum of 5 years of
experience in nuclear regulatory affairs, licensing, or I&C safety-related
systems. OR – Master’s or Doctoral degree in engineering or a related science
discipline. – Minimum of 3 years of experience in nuclear regulatory affairs,
licensing, or I&C safety-related systems. **Essential Skills & Experience** –
Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and
concisely in English and Polish. – Expertise in nuclear safety evaluations and
regulatory compliance for safety-critical I&C systems. – Ability to construct
persuasive safety cases and develop counterarguments to regulatory challenges. –
Experience reviewing engineering documents to establish regulatory
justifications and compliance strategies. – Ability to assess and interpret
regulatory concerns, identifying potential barriers to approval. – Familiarity
with NRC ADAMS, IAEA guidelines, and industry best practices for nuclear I&C
systems. – Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills for engaging with
regulatory agencies, industry groups, and technical teams. **Preferred
Qualifications** – Experience with Polish nuclear licensing requirements and
regulatory interactions with PAA. – Prior involvement in new nuclear power plant
licensing in EU countries, the U.K., or Canada (CNSC). – Knowledge of BWRX-300
I&C systems, NUMAC 2.0, and Mark VIe digital technology. – Experience with
cybersecurity programs for digital I&C systems in nuclear applications. –
Working knowledge of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Nuclear Safety
Standards, WENRA, and World Nuclear Association (WNA) guidance on I&C
safety-related systems. – Experience in regulatory affairs management for
complex nuclear projects. – Familiarity with risk-informed licensing approaches
and defense-in-depth principles. **Additional Requirements** – Legal
authorization to work in Poland or willingness to relocate (relocation
assistance available). – Must be a citizen of Poland or a country authorized
under the U.S. Department of Energy’s Part 810 Regulations. – Must comply with
U.S. Export Control Laws (10 CFR Part 810, 15 CFR Parts 730-774) and Polish
import/export regulations GEH will only employ those who are legally authorized
to work in their country of residency, including Poland for those residing in or
voluntarily relocating to Poland for this opening. Relocation assistance is
negotiable for those residing outside of Poland. Position is open to citizens of
Poland as well as other countries that are on the generally authorized list
under the United States Department of Energy’s Part 810 Regulations. This
