We invite you to the free Webinar: Flow Model vs Page Object Pattern.

The webinar will take place on July 19th, 2022. Start at 19:30 (GMT+3).

Register here.

The Flow Model pattern addresses the issues with the Page Object pattern.

The Page Object Pattern is widely known and used amongst Test Automation Engineers. It allows engineers to model the application for their tests, reusing certain elements, making the test solution more structured and hence decreasing maintenance cost and the learning curve of test automation. Péter came up with the original idea of the Flow Model Pattern back in 2013 to solve some problems that he could not resolve with the Page Object approach. He will present how Flow Models defer from Page Models and will teach the basics for the audience through showing examples as well.

Theoretical knowledge that you will gain:

1. You will learn about the basics of Design Patterns and Principles such as the Facade pattern and the SOLID principles.

2. You will learn about the history and basics of the Page Object pattern along with its flaws and how we can address those flaws.

3. You will learn about the Flow Model Pattern, which is an alternative and a complementary design pattern to the Page Object.

4. You will see coding examples on how to implement the Flow Model Pattern on multiple levels of the Testing Pyramid.

Practical skills that you will gain after the webinar:

1. You will see architecture diagram examples and learn how to step-by-step design the architecture diagrams in which Flow Models are leveraged.

2. You will see coding examples on how to implement the Flow Model Pattern on multiple levels of the Testing Pyramid.

Tools that you will get acquainted with:

  • Design Patterns,
  • Page Object,
  • Flow Model.

Who will be interested:

  • Test Automation Engineer and Architects,
  • Developers.

The minimum level of knowledge that a listener should have:

Basics of coding and test automation.

Speaker:

Péter Földházi (USA)

  • Quality Architect at EPAM Systems USA.
  • Péter has been working at EPAM since 2012 and moved to the USA in 2019 where he has been working as a Test Automation Consultant and as a Quality Architect.
  • He has experience in mobile, web and desktop testing in all levels of test automation in the financial, gaming, fitness and other domains.
  • He is the first European and one of the first people in the world having successfully taken and passed the ISTQB CTAL Test Automation Engineer module exam. He is actively helping the ISTQB through the Hungarian Testing Board by reviewing syllabi of foundation and advanced levels.
  • Péter is also an active speaker, having spoken on meetups and software engineering conferences such as the STAREAST, HUSTEF, UCAAT etc. He used to be a guest lecturer at 3 Budapest based universities: Óbuda, Pázmány and the ELTE universities. Brewing beer and planting chilis are some of his hobbies.
