Objective of the position: As a Hardware Component Engineer you are responsible
for the component strategy of hardware components for our signalling systems.
You will also act as a technical interface to suppliers, product design,
obsolescence management and projects. Detailed Job Description and
Responsibilities: As a Hardware Component Engineer your work builds the basis
for successful product development and product maintenance. Together with the
stakeholders you specify requirements and select components that are used in the
products and solutions and thereby defining the component portfolio. Tasks in
Detail: Development and maintenance of a generic component strategy for hardware
components (e.g. resistors, capacitors, monitors, servers) Component engineering
services to ensure component standardization, availability and high quality
Component selection and qualification according to group-wide standards, parts
list checking, technical supplier interface and database management Collaborate
with product and solution owners to select parts that best meet their
requirements and review BOMs Pre-check of component relevant documentation (e.g.
data sheets, conformities) and creation and maintenance of part numbers for the
selected components Definition and maintenance of preferred parts lists Support
with obsolescence monitoring and obsolescence management, as well as definition
and selection of successor solutions Creation and management of component
specifications Data maintenance in the product database systems Desired Field of
Study or Education: Successfully completed studies, for example with a focus on
electrical engineering or industrial engineering Professional Skills: Experience
in component engineering in one of the following industries: Automotive,
aerospace, rail signalling, avionics or high-reliability electronic systems Very
good technical knowledge of passive COTS components Excellent analytical,
communication and organizational skills required First application experience
with databases would be desirable Very good language skills in English German is
